Ugh, I never know how to start one of these things.

Is um. Is anyone familiar at all with a robot by the name of Robo-ky? I fixed him up recently and well, I'm not exactly a robot expert, but I think I did okay. If anyone who is more knowledgeable could take a look at him just to be safe though, I'd appreciate it. [...] As a warning, he can be a little hard to deal with so keep that in mind.

Actually, while I got this up. Have any of you guys ever noticed how obsolete the journal system is? It looks technologically advanced sure, but as far as a socialized network goes, there were far better ones back where I'm from. What are you supposed to do if someone is harassing you with dozens of filtered messages? Go over to them and beat them to a pulp? Put a paperweight on the journal and hope they go away? There's no way to block communications with a single person.

....and there isn't a precautionary measure put forth for this kind of thing is there? Is everything in this village ran by ear?

The same thing we've been worrying about since the beginning: the barrier. Finding a way through that is the main thing that matters. [Oh and a MILLION other things he won't go into details with over the network.]

[She's pretty sure that even if her power would work on the barrier, she'd never be able to absorb that much energy and live.

Okay... there might be a direct way of escaping. But to do that I would need someone with very specific powers.

[Really going all out with this goth thing aren't you? He's going to enter, but he'll knock on the frame of the door since she might not have noticed he just came in. Also he's totally still wearing his hoody and hat combo even though it's summer time.]

Nothin' in the pile this morning, but sometimes things just - show up an' sort themselves.

We can take a look-see in the electronics aisle an' see if anything showed up.

I probably should have figured it wouldn't be here. The reason I wanted that laptop is because it actually had information about the mutant I was telling you about: Absorption Man.

I figured you might not... but anyway he is a mutate with the power to literally become whatever material he touches. I don't know him personally, but I have read up on just about everything there is to know about his powers.

I'm not sure if he would get brought here or not, but if he touches the barrier, it could be the key to getting out.

[Okay that's... not as horrible or close to her exactly as it could be. Inorganic objects, huh? That could have been nice...]

Ya think mimicking the barrier would make him as strong as it?

Probably. But that wouldn't really be the point of it. The purpose would be to figure out what the barrier is even made of. If he turns into a hardened material of some kind that means it's solid.

If he turns into energy well it's an energy barrier. And if it's an energy barrier he might be able to "become" the barrier in a sense and take it down for us. Whatever happens we'll at least have something more to go off of besides that it's "an unbreakable barrier".

[Rogue nods and follows that to its logical conclusion...]

But what if the barrier changes ta accommodate to the powers of the people that are locked up in here? An' how would you even analyze what he turned into?

Well there's definitely no guarantees. I'm not even sure if he'll go along with it..

[HE KIND OF YOU KNOW. Is a criminal. BUT YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW THAT.]

But if the barrier does change to accommodate, then that would still be more information than we've managed to gather about it in the last what. Four years? It'd be an improvement. [...] Basically I would be trying to find out what category it falls under. Modern technology, alien technology, magic, energy. I wouldn't be analyzing it by myself of course. There are people here who are also capable of helping with such things.

[But it's not as if the Malnosso leaves them handy-dandy analyzing tools... all the same, that's not the biggest problem here.]

Ya know they can alter our powers, right? With their shifts? So even if this guy showed up, they could just make it so he wouldn't absorb anythin' useful.

[Like they'd done to her, when she'd absorbed Third Party soldiers.]

That's a possibility yes. But it's not as if that's the only theory I have.... For example another one I came up with recently is about the Malnosso's robots. I think usually it's assumed they are somehow teleported inside the barrier. But I think there's a possibility they could actuallly be able to penetrate it. If that was true there might actually be a kind of metal or alien material that's capable of doing that.

So, if we could capture even the tiniest part of one of the robots, we could experiment with it and see if that theory is correct. Of course the problem would be even getting something like that to begin with...

[...has she mentioned that the dawning fact that she is talking to a scientist is starting to creep her out? Because it is.]

An' I guess in the meantime, what ya need ta look for is stuff ta make up some kinda lab.

[Aw,come on Bruce isn't creepy at all! Just a skinny nerd guy who's barely taller than you!]

Oh, well... I kind of have one. I mean it can't really be considered a lab [Yes it can.] but I have something set up back at my apartment. [Hmm. Hopefully that doesn't sound too weird.] I'm kind of used of making things like that off limited resources...
