Vol. 1 #104 -- [Voice]

Ugh, I never know how to start one of these things.

Is um. Is anyone familiar at all with a robot by the name of Robo-ky? I fixed him up recently and well, I'm not exactly a robot expert, but I think I did okay. If anyone who is more knowledgeable could take a look at him just to be safe though, I'd appreciate it. [...] As a warning, he can be a little hard to deal with so keep that in mind.

...

Actually, while I got this up. Have any of you guys ever noticed how obsolete the journal system is? It looks technologically advanced sure, but as far as a socialized network goes, there were far better ones back where I'm from. What are you supposed to do if someone is harassing you with dozens of filtered messages? Go over to them and beat them to a pulp? Put a paperweight on the journal and hope they go away? There's no way to block communications with a single person.

....and there isn't a precautionary measure put forth for this kind of thing is there? Is everything in this village ran by ear?

It might have something to do with some of these worlds being insanely magic driven. It could be that with the constant use of magic technology seems to suffer.

Why try to further medical studies when most wounds can be dealt with with a potion or a magic spell? Same with say a telephone. There's no need for one if there are teleportation spells or magical items that can let you communicate.

[Ah, yes. Magic. Things he doesn't truly believe in anymore.]

It is unfortunate. A world where both existed would be much stronger than relying upon one thing only.

That some will never come to realize the glory of the Internet is truly a sad thing.

Maybe... maybe not.

In a lot of ways they completely contradict each other. Magic says you don't need science, and science says magic doesn't exist. It's almost as if they're yin and yang. That could be why it's so hard for both to exist simultaneously.

Ah... [But aren't yin and yang necessarily in order to balance each other out? He would point that out, but perhaps that is rude. Besides, yin and yang belong to China and Japan is kind of miffed that China left. Still. orz]

Perhaps..... If England-san were here, he could have a better discussion on this topic. I'm afraid my country gave up magic and such things long ago.

[Probably wasn't worded the way he wanted it to be, but basically he means them both having too much of a dominate presence would disrupt their natural balance. A science driven world needs magic to take place in the form of "miracles" while magic can't necessarily be formed without at least some scientific or mathematical basics. Anything other than that would make it dog eat dog in a way... or something.]

Really...? Do you know why?

....Because it isn't....real? [That sounds not so...convincing, however.] I had to give up our spirits and things in order to modernize with the rest of the world. It was very difficult to catch up after over 200 years of seclusion.
